After a successful management career in firms like ALUMCO, he entered politics in 2003, becoming the first Executive Secretary of Ojodu Local Council Development Area. In 2011, he was elected to the Federal House of Representatives and later ran for deputy governor in Kogi in 2015, although the election outcome was contested following the death of his running mate.
