Eyre Saitch was an American professional basketball player born on February 20, 1905, in Pembroke Parish, Bermuda. He played for the New York Renaissance, the first black team to win a world championship in basketball, achieving over 2000 wins. Saitch was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Additionally, he was a national-level tennis player, winning the 1926 American Tennis Association singles title, and had Sylvester Smith as his doubles partner. He died on November 28, 1985.
