Eyjólfur Jónsson (born May 18, 1925 - died November 29, 2007) was an Icelandic police officer and athlete known for his achievements in swimming during the 1950s. He gained notoriety for various sea swims, including the Drangey swim in 1957, and attempts to swim the English Channel—making him the first Icelander to attempt it, although he did not succeed. He was also influential in founding the Þróttur sports club and was recognized as an honorary member in 1989.
