Evelyne Owona Essomba, born Evelyne Mengue Akoum on January 24, 1977, is a prominent Cameroonian journalist. She is a graduate of the Advanced School of Mass Communication, having completed her studies in its 26th class. Owona Essomba has a notable career with 22 years at the National Television CRTV and also worked for the newspaper Mutations. In a significant achievement for gender representation, she became the first woman to lead the Cameroonian section of the International Francophone Press Union on June 18, 2021.
