Erwin 'Ernie' Woerner was an American football player, born on May 26, 1905, in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Central High School and later played college football as a tackle at Bucknell University from 1927 to 1929, where he served as captain of the 1929 team. Woerner also had a brief professional career in the NFL with the Newark Tornadoes in 1930, participating in eight games, with four as a starter. He passed away on December 26, 1972.
