Erling Anger was a prominent Norwegian civil servant born on April 17, 1909, in Kristiansund. He was educated as a cand.jur. and held various significant positions throughout his career, including chief administrative officer of finances in Trondheim starting in 1950 and County Governor of Møre og Romsdal in 1958. He also served as the acting permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Local Government and Labour in 1965 and County Governor of Hedmark from 1966 to 1979. He became chairman of the Labour Court of Norway from 1980 to 1984.
