Erik van Ommen is a visual artist from Epe, born on October 26, 1956. He creates etchings, oil paintings, sculptures, and video films, and lives with his partner Wilma Brinkhof in Vries. A graduate of the Academy for Visual Arts Minerva in 1983, his work reflects figurative traditions of Northern Realism with a strong collaboration focus on nature. He founded the Artist for Nature Foundation and has participated in exhibitions worldwide. In 2015, he published his 32nd book, which featured video films and earned a nomination for the Jan Wolkers Prize.
