Erik Vilhelm Andersson (1948-2018) was a Finnish linguist, poet, and professor of Swedish language at Åbo Akademi. He graduated from Ålands lyceum in 1966 and pursued higher education at Åbo Akademi, earning his doctorate in 1977. He served as an assistant professor from 1977 to 1991 and then as a professor until 2012. His notable works include studies on Swedish verb phrases and haiku poetry. Andersson was a member of the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters since 1986 and contributed to essential grammars of the Swedish language.
