Eric G. Strauss is a President's Professor at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He leads the Biology Department and directs the Ballona Discovery Park. As the founder of the Center for Urban Resilience, he focuses on synergistic research and teaching for the benefit of local communities. Strauss has a rich background in animal behavior and urban ecosystems, having previously directed the Environmental Studies Program at Boston College for over 15 years. He holds a PhD from Tufts University and is known for his research on coyotes and Lyme disease, among other topics.
