Ensio Samuli Pihkala (1915–1941) was a Finnish pastor, philosopher, and SS volunteer who served as a field chaplain for Finnish volunteers in the Waffen-SS's Wiking Division. He earned a degree in theology and was ordained in 1937, later completing studies in education. Pihkala served in combat during the Winter War and was promoted to the rank of officer. He was killed in action in Ukraine in August 1941, and his diary contains candid reflections on the actions of the SS troops of his time.
