Eneko Barberena Mondragon is a Basque writer born on July 3, 1983, in Arrasate, Gipuzkoa. He has a law degree and has published two books along with multiple short stories in Gara. He co-founded the Kulturisten Kofradia with Manex Agirre, producing various plays. Barberena released a poetry collection titled 'Lurrunak ez du oraindik kristalik estali' in 2004. He ran for mayor with EH Bildu in the 2015 municipal elections and serves as a councilor. In 2021, he won the (H)ilbeltza grant to write 'Xukunetatik aldendu ahala.'
