Émile Lachapelle was a Swiss rower and sailor who participated in the 1924 and 1948 Olympics. In the 1924 Paris Games, he won two gold medals in rowing; he competed as a coxswain in the events of coxed pairs and coxed fours, notably substituting Walter Loosli in the final of the latter. At the 1948 London Games, he competed in sailing with the boat Ylliam VII and finished sixth in the 6-meter class.
