Elliot Tapfumaneyi Manyika was a notable Zimbabwean politician born on July 30, 1955. He served as Minister without Portfolio and as National Political Commissar for ZANU-PF. After enduring a five-year prison sentence for political activism, Manyika resumed his education, obtaining diplomas and a master's degree. He joined the Zanu-PF Youth League in 1982 and held various government positions, including Minister of Youth Development. Tragically, Manyika died in a road accident on December 6, 2008, and was posthumously declared a national hero.
