Elling Kvamme (1918-2016) was a Norwegian professor of medicine, known for his work in neurochemistry, particularly on brain metabolism related to glutamine. During his studies at the University of Oslo, he was arrested on November 30, 1943, and deported to Buchenwald. He worked at various hospitals including Dikemark, Ullevål, and Aker, serving as a chief physician at the neurochemical laboratory at the psychiatric institute in Vinderen. Kvamme was also a prominent member of the Buchenwald Association and was passionate about filmmaking, with his daughter being filmmaker Elsa Kvamme.
