Ellen van der Ploeg (Elly Corry van der Ploeg) was a Dutch (Eurasian) woman born on January 14, 1923, who became known as a victim of the Simpang事件 during World War II. In 1944, she was raped and forced into prostitution by the Japanese military. In the early 1990s, she publicly shared her experiences as a victim and participated in a lawsuit in 1994 as part of a group seeking reparations for former Dutch prisoners of war and civilian detainees.
