Ellen Klages is an American author known for her historical and science fiction novels, living in San Francisco. She has received multiple nominations for prestigious awards including the Hugo, Nebula, and Campbell Awards. Her first non-science fiction novel, 'The Green Glass Sea', published in 2006, won the Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction in 2007. Additionally, her collection 'Portable Childhoods' was a finalist for the World Fantasy Awards in 2008 and her short story 'Singing on a Star' received a nomination for the same award in 2010.
