Elke König is a German teacher and former president of the synod of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church. She studied at the University of Greifswald and worked as a teacher before becoming an assistant at the university. She was elected to the leadership of the synod in the 1990s and received the Bugenhagen Medal for her volunteer work in 2022. König is married to former Greifswald mayor, Arthur König, and has two children.
