Elizabeth M. Ramsey, M.D. (1906–1993) was an American physician and researcher specializing in placentology and embryology. She was notable for her pioneering work on early human embryos, specifically a 14-day-old embryo discovered in 1934, which was the earliest studied at that time. Ramsey conducted research at the Carnegie Institution of Washington for nearly four decades and contributed to revealing the placental circulatory system workings through cineradiology in primates. She authored over 125 articles and three books in her field.
