Elizabeth (Elise) Muller (1919–1985) was an Afrikaans writer who gained recognition for her literary contributions. Following an illness during her first year at the University of Stellenbosch, she published her first book, Ek, 'n Samaritaanse vrou, in 1941, winning £100 in prize money. She served on the editorial team at NG Kerkuitgewers, viewing her work as a divine calling, and became the head of the editorial team for 22 years. Muller was also awarded the Hertzog Prize for prose in 1957 for her work Die vrou op die skuit.
