Eliot Quataert is an American astronomer and theoretical astrophysicist born on June 19, 1973. He has served as a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, before moving to Princeton University in 2020 as the Charles A. Young Professor of Astrophysical Sciences. Quataert's achievements include winning the 2008 Helen B. Warner Prize for Astronomy and the Donald Sterling Noyce Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2010. In 2012, he was recognized as one of the first Simons Investigators and received significant funding from the Simons Foundation for his research.
