Einar Þorgrímsson, born on September 30, 1949, in Reykjavik, is an Icelandic author renowned for his works in children's and young adult literature. He published his first book, 'Leynihellirinn', in 1965. His other notable works include 'Leyndardómar eyðibýlisins', which became the most popular youth book of 1971. He has also produced several children's music albums, with original songs up to 50 tracks by 2019. Einar was a talented athlete, holding national records in athletics and weightlifting, and won the Open chess tournament in Iceland in 1997.
