Eiichirō Matsumoto (July 8, 1932 – June 17, 2001) was a Japanese Western-style painter born in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, winning the Ōhashi Prize upon completion. He actively exhibited at the Independent Exhibition and was a teacher at Tokyo Metropolitan Komaba High School before becoming a professor at Tama Art University, focusing on guiding young artists. His works primarily featured landscapes, with notable series including 'Average Obese Body' (1965–1970) and 'Flowers, Clouds, and Cows' (1997–2001).
