Ei Muramatsu was a Japanese scholar of Chinese literature and author, born on August 15, 1923, in Tokyo. He was the fourth son of the writer Muramatsu Shōfū and became a professor at Keio University, where he later earned the title of emeritus professor. He studied under Shin Tarō Okuno and authored numerous works, including historical novels like 'Gosetsu Shiki' and 'Godai Gunyū Den.' He received the Popular Literature Research Award in 1989 for his work 'Shikigen: Onna, Mata Onna – The Life of Muramatsu Shōfū.'
