Egon Pleidrup Poulsen was a Danish trade union leader and mayor of Morsø Municipality. He was born on December 20, 1950, in Karby and served on the municipal council starting in 1996 before becoming mayor in 1998. He resigned from the mayoral post at the end of 2009 to pursue fishing, but was later elected to the Regional Council in North Jutland and ran for the Folketing. Unfortunately, he died in a drowning accident during a fishing trip on October 31, 2010.
