Eeva-Liisa Saarinen, born December 21, 1952, in Mikkeli, is a Finnish mezzo-soprano opera singer. She studied singing at the Sibelius Academy under Liisa Linko-Malmio and furthered her studies in London, Berlin, Rome, and Copenhagen. From 1984 to 2005, she was a permanent member of the Finnish National Opera's soloist ensemble. Saarinen has performed in numerous opera productions across Finland and Europe, including the U.S., and has participated in premiering 12 Finnish operas. Her notable recordings include works by Sibelius and Rautavaara.
