Edvard Janzon (1937-2009) was a Finnish slang writer known for his works on the spoken slang of Helsinki during the 1940-1960s. He wrote the 'Valkan trilogy', which reflects his youth experiences in Vallila and Kumpula. In addition to his trilogy, he contributed numerous slang articles to Tsilari magazine, the publication of Stadin slangi ry. Renowned slang researcher Heikki Paunonen regarded Janzon as one of the last great masters of slang, collecting many terms and phrases from him for a slang dictionary.
