Edvard Elsrud (March 31, 1926 – January 7, 1994) was a forest owner, author, and speaker from Hedalen in Sør-Aurdal municipality, Oppland. He lived at the farm Nordre Storruste and used local history from Hedalen and the forest areas Vidalen and Vassfaret as the basis for his books and essays. His first book, Vassfarbjørnen, published in 1975, focused on the debate about the protection of Vassfaret. Throughout his life, he was engaged in local matters and contributed significantly to the community's development and tourism.
