Edouard Dhanis was a Belgian Jesuit born on February 6, 1902, in Ghent, and died on December 17, 1978, in Rome. He was a professor of theology at the University of Leuven from 1933 to 1949 and then at the Gregorian University in Rome from 1949 to 1971. Dhanis served as the rector of the Gregorian University from 1963 to 1966.
