Edgar Meinhard Swinne was a German politician from the Free Democratic Party (FDP). He was born on December 24, 1936, in Berlin and passed away on October 30, 2018. After completing his Abitur in 1958, he joined the FDP and pursued a teaching career. Swinne served in the Berlin regional parliament from 1979 and held the position of school principal in Berlin. Following his political career, he became a city councilor in Liebenwalde and chaired the local FDP, also authoring biographies of notable physicists.
