Eddy Soetaert, born on November 6, 1948, in Ieper, Belgium, is a prominent Belgian sports journalist. He began his career at De Weekbode before joining Het Volk as a sports journalist in 1977. Soetaert has reported on the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Vuelta a España, and world cycling championships. He served as a football columnist and followed the Belgian national team's matches. In 2002, he became an editor at Het Nieuwsblad and contributed a weekly sports column for Radio 2 West-Vlaanderen. In 2021, he assumed the role of press officer for KV Kortrijk.
