Edmund James Goodger, born on March 10, 1929, is a former Australian rules footballer known for playing with Fitzroy in the VFL. He transitioned to Fitzroy from Heidelberg, where he earned recognition by winning the best and fairest in 1948. Primarily a defender and centre half-back, he also contributed in the ruck. In 1952, he narrowly missed Fitzroy's best and fairest award, finishing second by a single vote. After the 1958 season, Goodger took on a new challenge as a playing coach with the Ivanhoe Amateurs.
