Edgar Sneed Jr. is an American professional golfer, sportscaster, and course design consultant, born on August 6, 1944, in Roanoke, Virginia. A member of the Ohio State University golf team, he turned pro in 1967 and competed on the PGA Tour, winning four events including the Kaiser International Open and the Greater Milwaukee Open. Sneed famously led the 1979 Masters Tournament before finishing as a runner-up. He also performed on the Champions Tour and began broadcasting for ABC and CNBC. He resides in Palm Harbor, Florida, and plans to provide golf instruction.
