Ed Harris is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter born on November 28, 1950. He is best known for films such as The Right Stuff, The Abyss, Nixon, The Rock, Enemy at the Gates, A History of Violence, and Gravity. Throughout his career, he has received three Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in Apollo 13, The Truman Show, and The Hours. Additionally, he was nominated for Best Actor for his directorial debut, Pollock. Harris has won a Golden Globe and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.
