Edward Joseph Furgol (1917-1997) was an American professional golfer best known for winning the U.S. Open in 1954. He overcame a significant injury from childhood that resulted in a crooked arm, leading him to take up golf as a therapeutic activity. Furgol achieved six wins on the PGA Tour, including a major championship, and was a member of the Ryder Cup team in 1957. Born in New York Mills, New York, he is remembered as a notable figure in American golf history.
