Ed Curran is an American jazz musician known for playing the alto saxophone and clarinet, as well as for his composition work. He began singing in a church choir during his youth. After serving in the military, he returned to New York and studied saxophone with Joe Napolean. Curran was part of a Third Stream group and collaborated with notable musicians like Bill Dixon. He organized summer concerts called 'Jazz in the Churchyard' at St. Marks Church in the Bowery. In 1967, he recorded an album titled 'Elysa' with his quartet for Savoy Records.
