Ecke Hernæus was a Swedish painter born on October 22, 1917, in Karlstad. He studied at the Tekniska skolan in Stockholm from 1937 to 1940 and at the Skånska målarskolan in Malmö from 1947 to 1948. Following his education, Hernæus spent two years studying in Paris under André Lhote. Throughout his career, he frequently traveled in France and Spain. He participated in various exhibitions, including those of the Värmlands konstförening and at the Petit Palais in Paris in 1955.
