Emmanuel Kofi Nyame, commonly known as E.K. Nyame, was a prominent Ghanaian composer and guitarist born on December 24, 1927. He played a crucial role in the development of modern Ghanaian highlife music and was recognized as a pioneer of highlife songs performed in the Akan language. As the founder of the E.K. Band and the Akan Trio, Nyame significantly contributed to the music scene, earning him the status of one of the 'godfathers' of highlife music in Ghana. He passed away on January 19, 1977.
