Evan David Jones was a Welsh librarian born on December 6, 1903, in Llangeitho. He was the eldest of seven children and pursued his education at Aberystwyth University, completing degrees in Welsh in 1926 and History in 1927. In 1958, he became the librarian of the National Library of Wales, a position he held until 1969. He dedicated his work to researching ancient Welsh manuscripts and published notable works, including two volumes of the poetry of Lewis Glyn Cothi, a 15th-century poet. He passed away at his home in Aberystwyth on March 7, 1987.
