Doug Overbey is an American lawyer and former politician who served as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee from 2017 to 2021. Before that, he was a Tennessee State Senator representing District 2 from 2009 to 2017 and held key committee positions. Overbey worked as a senior partner at his law firm and was an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law. He also served in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008. He was asked to resign in February 2021 along with other Trump-era attorneys.
