Dorothy Faye Murphy, born on September 20, 1952, is a pioneering American sports figure known for her contributions as a basketball player and coach, as well as her role in football. She made history in 1984 by becoming the first female football coach in the National Junior College Athletic Association when hired as the wide receivers coach at Hinds Community College. Her career has highlighted the increasing presence of women in coaching roles and in traditionally male-dominated sports.
