Donata Doni, born Santina Maccarrone, was an Italian poet born on November 24, 1913, in Lagonegro. After World War I, she moved to Forlì and later earned a degree in literature from the University of Padua. She worked as a middle school teacher and later served at the Ministry of Public Education in Rome. Although she began her poetry during her university studies, her works were published mainly in the late 1940s. Doni passed away in Rome on December 15, 1972, after struggling with a serious illness.
