His work laid foundational concepts for cellular networks using CDMA technology. Alongside Vladimir Kotelnikov, he was instrumental in establishing the theory of optimum noise immunity, which he pursued throughout his career, starting with a thesis at his institute. Ageyev passed away on July 31, 1997, in Nizhny Novgorod.
