Dmitri Wassiljewitsch Surensky was a Soviet cameraman born on August 18, 1902. He graduated from the State Technical School for Cinematographers in 1930 and worked for Studio Meschrabpom. Between 1945 and 1948, he was contracted with Stereokino, contributing to the first Soviet 3D feature film, an adaptation of Robinson Crusoe in 1947. Upon returning to his previous workplace, he collaborated with director Alexander Rou on several projects, incorporating stereoscopy in films like Mainacht in 1952. He was honored as a Distinguished Artist of the RSFSR in 1966.
