Dinesh Gunawardena is a Sri Lankan politician who has served as the Prime Minister since July 22, 2022. In addition to his role as Prime Minister, he holds the Ministerial positions for Public Administration, Home Affairs, and Provincial Councils and Local Government. A member of the leftist political party Mahajana Eksath Peramuna since 1973, he has been part of various cabinets and served as the Leader of the House from 2020 to 2022. Born into a notable political family, Dinesh has been elected to Parliament since 1983.
