Dietmar Müller is a German professor specialized in circuit and system design, born on January 29, 1940, in Chemnitz-Röhrsdorf. He studied electrical engineering at TU Dresden from 1958 to 1964 and completed his doctorate in 1968 on automatic character recognition. After working in industry and as a research associate, he became a full professor at TU Chemnitz in 1983, focusing on ASIC design. Müller retired in 2005 and has been a member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences since 2000 and of the German Academy of Engineering Sciences (acatech).
