Edward Richard George Steere (10 July 1908 – 1 June 1967) was a prominent New Zealand rugby union player known for playing as a lock. He represented Hawke's Bay at the provincial level and was part of the All Blacks from 1928 to 1932, participating in 21 matches, including six internationals. He captained the team on two occasions during their 1932 Australia tour. Additionally, Steere excelled in athletics, achieving a second-place finish in shot put at the 1934 New Zealand championships. He married Bessie Owen in 1936.
