Richard Edgar Skeen (1906-1990) was a notable American professional tennis player and instructor. He was the runner-up in Men's Singles at the 1941 U.S. Pro Tennis Championships and achieved a ranking as high as World No. 2 that year. Skeen's performance included reaching the semifinals in four additional tournaments. Renowned tennis player Bill Tilden recognized him as an exceptional tennis teacher in his 1950 book, 'How to Play Better Tennis'. His contributions to tennis both as a player and instructor have left a lasting impact.
