Dibyendu Barua is an Indian chess player born on October 27, 1966, who holds the title of Grandmaster. He is the second Indian chess player to earn the Grandmaster title after former world champion Viswanathan Anand. In 1978, he became the youngest player at the Indian Chess Championship, and in 1982 he defeated the then-world number two, Viktor Korchnoi, in London. He won the national Indian chess championship for the first time in 1983 and achieved the Grandmaster title from FIDE in 1991.
