He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2017 for his notable work 'Gaali Rangu' (Color of the Wind). Among his famous writings are 'Adhyakshaa Mannichandi' (Forgive Me, President), 'Gareebi Geetaalu' (Songs of Poverty), and 'Amma Chettu Chepa Chiluka' (Mother, Tree, Fish, and Parrot). He contributed significantly to Telugu literature until his passing in November 2020.
