Nigel Desmond Norman was a notable aircraft designer and aviation pioneer who co-founded Britten-Norman in 1954. He made significant contributions to the aviation industry and was recognized with the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1970. Besides aviation, he was also involved in designing and sailing racing yachts along with his business partner John Britten. Throughout his career, he served in managing roles, including as chairman and managing director at AeroNorTec until 2002, when he passed away at the age of 73.
